Electric Bike Batteries
Lithium Ion Vs.
Lead Acid eBike Batteries
At Pietzo, our goal is to deliver high quality, environmentally friendly electric bicycles. Our products incorporate 4th generation battery technology and we are always on the look-out to add new features while keeping our bikes at reasonable prices for our customers.
When shopping for an electric bike, keep in mind that many electric bikes sold today still use lead acid batteries. While cheaper, these batteries have several drawbacks, not the least of which is their negative environmental impact.
Lead acid batteries:
- Less range - an electric bike powered by a lead acid battery will take you half of the distance vs lithium ion
- Shorter life span - our batteries are rated for 600 charging cycles, lead acid batteries last half as long
- Bad for the environment - lead is poisonous to the environment, to people and can be more difficult to recycle
- Lose their charge - over time a lead acid batter will quickly lose its charge
Every Pietzo electric bike runs on
lithium ion rechargeable batteries.
